Testimonials

I had a lot of hurt in my life and could not, or did not, want to see them. After graduating Dunklin and training in the SLT Program I have taken the things I've learned back to Alaska to implement in a program there.

In the middle of a war torn country filled with gangs, drug dealers, guerrillas and homelessness is planted a City of Refuge named Canaan. Founded in 1998, the regeneration center is located on 25 acres in the small town of Baranoa. It has been developed into a thriving therapeutic community, complete with a recovery program, church and training center, helping men and their families get back on their feet and in turn helping others through the process.

The dormitory can house 32 men and the program includes daily classes, an agricultural project, and a functioning bakery that is the main industry. Canaan is truly a City of Refuge in this dangerous part of the world. Canaan is under the Apostolic covering of Dunklin Memorial Church.

The “Village of Hope” was founded by Reverend Mart Vahi in a small farming community outside the capital city of Estonia. Rev. Mart, having Estonian heritage, felt called back to his homeland in 1990 and moved there with his family. God planted a strong desire in his heart to reach out to those lost in addiction, and their families. The program has run as a half-way house for several years and was incorporated in 2001. They have asked to come under the Apostolic covering of Dunklin as they feel led to model the City of Refuge concept. Rev. Mart’s son Andres, along with his wife Erica, have completed a year of training at Dunklin and has moved to Estonia to help raise up the program.
